Why should academics and filmmakers dictate how we understand Shakespeare? Dr. Robin Williams is the world’s foremost expert on how Americans have always read Shakespeare for themselves to promote literacy and build communities. Founder of the International Shakespeare Center, Dr. Williams will present the case for slow-reading Shakespeare out loud and in community verse by verse. Following the talk, we will apply her proven methods to the reading of King Lear for our inaugural Shakespeare Reading Group. Registration required as seating is limited.
